چکیده

We consider the problem of locating two unknown elements x; y using group testing devices. Assuming that up to a given number E of tests out of Q can give erroneous feedback, we provide optimal algorithms to search for x and y.

Generalized Framework for Selectors with Applications in Optimal Group Testing

Group Testing refers to the situation in which one is given a set of objects O, an unknown subset P O, and the task is to determine P by asking queries of the type \does P intersect Q?", where Q is a subset of O. Group testing is a basic search paradigm that occurs in a variety of situations such as quality control in product testing, searching in storage systems, multiple access communications...

m-Testing of Model Specification in Many Groups

The m-testing of model specification pioneered by Newey (1985) and Tauchen (1985) and extended by White (1987) offers a general framework that unifies many specification tests in the literature. Within the m-testing framework, we consider how to test the hypothesis that a model is correctly specified in each of many groups in the population under study, where each of the groups offers only a fe...

Noise-Resilient Group Testing: Limitations and Constructions

We study combinatorial group testing schemes for learning dsparse boolean vectors using highly unreliable disjunctive measurements. We consider an adversarial noise model that only limits the number of false observations, and show that any noise-resilient scheme in this model can only approximately reconstruct the sparse vector. On the positive side, we give a general framework for construction...

Skin test concentrations for systemically administered drugs -- an ENDA/EAACI Drug Allergy Interest Group position paper.

Skin tests are of paramount importance for the evaluation of drug hypersensitivity reactions. Drug skin tests are often not carried out because of lack of concise information on specific test concentrations. The diagnosis of drug allergy is often based on history alone, which is an unreliable indicator of true hypersensitivity. To promote and standardize reproducible skin testing with safe and n...

Olfactory testing in children using objective tools: comparison of Sniffin’ Sticks and University of Pennsylvania Smell Identification Test (UPSIT)

BACKGROUND Detection of olfactory dysfunction is important for fire and food safety. Clinical tests of olfaction have been developed for adults but their use in children has been limited because they were felt to be unreliable in children under six years of age. We therefore administered two olfactory tests to children and compared results across tests. METHODS Two olfactory tests (Sniffin' S...
